Aided Phytoremediation in Fire-Affected Forest Soil

چکیده
Wildfires are occurring with an increasing frequency, and substances they generate can negatively affect the environment. A pot experiment Lolium perrene was performed on burnt soil supplemented organic (biochar, compost) inorganic (NPK fertilizer) supplements combinations of amendments in order to assess possibility aided phytomanagement fire-affected areas. Soil more aboveground biomass growth than underground growth. Organic amendment, biochar, compost promoted growth; however, did not increase bioconcentration metal elements roots. Unamended achieved highest biomass, while it produced significantly less amended biochar compost. Based ash composition from this study, phytostabilization appears be a suitable method, as priority is rapidly recover vegetation prevent erosion. This study therefore recommends selecting phytoremediation method based ash.

Phytoremediation of soil metals.
The phytoremediation of metal-contaminated soils offers a low-cost method for soil remediation and some extracted metals may be recycled for value. Both the phytoextraction of metals and the phytovolatilization of Se or Hg by plants offer great promise for commercial development. Natural metal hyperaccumulator phenotype is much more important than high-yield ability when using plants to remove ...
متن کاملFire effects on temperate forest soil C and N storage.
Temperate forest soils store globally significant amounts of carbon (C) and nitrogen (N). Understanding how soil pools of these two elements change in response to disturbance and management is critical to maintaining ecosystem services such as forest productivity, greenhouse gas mitigation, and water resource protection. Fire is one of the principal disturbances acting on forest soil C and N st...

The soils underlying the 12 Fire and Fire Surrogates Network include six soil orders and >50 named soil series. Across the network, pretreatment soils varied from 3.7 to 7.1 in pH, and exhibited ranges of twofold in bulk density, fourfold in soil organic C (SOC) content, 10-fold in total inorganic N (TIN), and 200-1000-fold in extractable Ca and K. Nonmetric multidimensional (NMS) ordination of...
متن کاملPhytoremediation of pesticide wastes in soil.
Soils at agrochemical dealer sites often are contaminated with pesticide residues from decades of accidental and incidental spillage. We have determined that prairie grasses native to the Midwestern U.S. are suitable for phytoremediation because they are tolerant of most herbicides and of climatic extremes, such as heat, cold, drought, and flooding. A mixed stand of big bluestem, switch grass, ...

Fire, as a natural ecological disturbance factor in forest, this study located in the Marivan region, Northern Zagros forest, and western Iranian state of Kurdistan. In each burned and unburned area 30 circle sample plot (1000 m2) were collected by randomized–systematic method in the 100×200 m net (in total 60 plots). In every sample plot the kind of species, number of tree, the heig...
